Kate Jones - Celebrating Women in Science Through Puzzles
We wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate International Day of Women and Girls in Science, which takes place every year on 11 February.
As a puzzle business, there is a clear overlapping between the world of puzzles and the world of science, particularly the universe of mathematics and geometry.
With that in mind, I wanted to introduce you to one of the most prolific puzzle creators of the last 50 years, in case you were not already familiar.
Kate Jones is the founder of Kadon Enterprises, and is responsible for an extraordinary body of work - some of the most elegant, challenging and visually beautiful puzzles we've seen. You can explore them at Kadon's website, gamepuzzles.com.
After discovering Kate's work, we watched the short (and Emmy-winning) video below, where Kate describes the beauty of puzzles and their place in our lives in a way that we've struggled to articulate here at Kloob. I urge you to take the 3.5 minutes to watch this video.
Today we're celebrating Kate Jones. But now that we've discovered her work - and the incredible archive of puzzles and resources she's created - we plan to revisit regularly and share more with you about the puzzles, ideas and people who continue to shape this fascinating corner of the puzzle world.
